  • 3 cups all-purpose flour
  • 0.5 cup sugar
  • 1 package active dry yeast approximately 2.25 teaspoons
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 cup milk warmed to 110°F
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1.5 pounds prunes pitted and halved
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, yeast, and salt. Mix well.
  2. Add warm milk, melted butter, and beaten eggs to the dry ingredients. Stir until the dough comes together.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover with a clean towel, and let rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out the risen dough into a disk and fit it into a greased tart pan.
  6. Arrange the prunes over the dough, sprinkle with honey and cinnamon.
  7. Bake for 45 minutes or until the crust is golden and the prunes are soft.

Notes

For an extra touch, serve with a scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of whipped cream.
